KVM (keyboard/video/mouse) and remote connectivity solutions vendor ATEN Technology Inc. released three new products recently during Interop Las Vegas.
The ATEN Media Distribution System (a digital signage solution that distributes high-quality video and audio content to up to 3,000 displays over CAT5 from a single input source); the Touch Screen LCD KVM (an all-in-one KVM switch that offers secure access to up to 16 servers with support for either USB or PS/2 in a 1U rack configuration); and two new KVM switches with integrated HDMI and USB 2.0 ports.
The ATEN Media Distribution System is cascadable to three levels and can support thousands of displays located up to 1500 feet from the source while maintaining excellent picture and sound quality. Eiler said the solution is ideal for hotels, airports, convention halls and other large-scale facilities.
It provides a central solution to deliver high-quality video output that can be used for customized retail media networks, public information systems, point of sale (POS), infotainment and finance. The digital signage solution features two serial RS-232 channels enabling fully interactive installations with touch screen displays.
The ATEN Media Distribution Solution consists of the following hardware components: CAT5 Audio/Video Splitter (VS1504/VS1508) -- four and eight-port CAT5 audio/video splitters; VGA over CAT5 Repeater + Audio (VB552) -- CAT5 audio/video signal extension device.

Available now, the VB552 and VS1504 or VS1508 are priced at $299.95 (US) and $799.95, respectively, and are backed by a three-year warranty program.
The new touch screen is the latest addition to ATEN's lineup of rackmount LCD KVM solutions and is part of the company's ALTSUEN product line. The Touch Screen LCD KVM (KL3116T) is priced at $3,499 and backed by a three-year warranty program.
Based on a dual rail design, the Touch Screen LCD KVM features a high-resolution 17-inch touch screen LCD monitor and keyboard with built-in touchpad. To optimize server room real estate, the keyboard can slide back while the touch screen LCD panel remains in plain sight to monitor and troubleshoot servers -- even with the server rack door closed. By daisy chaining additional serial KVM switches, the KL3116T can control up to 512 computers or servers from a single keyboard, touch screen monitor and mouse console.
The new HDMI KVM switches (CS1792 and CS1794) are two- and four-port HDMI KVM switches that enable users to manage multiple HDMI-equipped computers, HDMI sources and USB devices from a single keyboard, monitor and mouse while maintaining superior, high-resolution video quality.
Designed specifically for the SOHO market, the HDMI KVM switches are priced at $284.95 and 379.95, respectively, and are backed by a three-year warranty program. For more information, go to www.aten.com. |
