Finnish handheld manufacturer Nordic ID has launched a new mobile RFID reader series, the Nordic ID Merlin. Nordic ID Merlin is reported to have a fast, best-in-class RFID reader for professional use with high antenna gain and transmission power, excellent directivity and receiver sensitivity. It is designed for ruggedness and reliability, and built to operate all day long on a single charge.

Repsol, the global energy company, has awarded their service station POS system renewal programme in Spain and Portugal to Toshiba TEC. Repsol operates through a network of over 9,000 service stations in Spain and Portugal with a total of 11,500 POS terminals. The four-year replacement program includes a complex roll-out logistics operation, staging and implementing localised hardware and software configurations as well as third-party maintenance.
